Happy Easter!

Was the Easter Bunny good to you? Have you been enjoying the first bit of spring? We've been away visiting family and I've been preoccupied with a lot of non-paper crafting projects. We've dyed eggs, sewed and embroidered bunny treat bags, and decorated Easter sugar cookies. Here's a couple of photos of what we've been up to over our break:

My daughter and I had a great time decorating sugar cookies with royal icing. Here are a few of mine ... she ate all of hers pretty much as soon as the icing hit the cookie!

I knew I had to give these bunny treat bags a try when I saw them on Pinterest! I added to the design by adding soft satin ears, a satin hair ribbon sewed onto the back of the bag (the original was just tied with yarn), and I personalized them by embroidering the recipient's name on each. I made this one for a friend's baby daughter and tucked a little egg-shaped wooden shaker inside. All in all, I think I made at least half a dozen of these, maybe more. They were a labour of love!

Each bag only uses one 8.5" by 11" piece of felt. Since I used leftover ribbon (my daughter wanted to be a ballerina last Hallowe'en, and this was the ribbon I used to make her costume), the bags cost next to nothing to make! This was one of my first times embroidering by hand ... what do you think??

Once we're home again, I'll be sure to share some actual papercrafting projects as well. Until then, happy Easter and happy crafting!
